You say you want a revolution
Well, you know We all want to change the world
You tell me that it’s evolution
Well, you know We all want to change the world
Before you think I’m about to be seditious, I’m talking about a revolution of a different kind. That said, together the revolters do change the country and the world. I’m talking about the Entrepreneur Revolution. One of the most mind-blowing books for me this year would have to be a book with the same title written by Daniel Priestley. You can hear my interview with him on his other book, “Key Person of Influence.”
He talks about how it’s the age of the entrepreneur, the agile small business owner. We will see the rise of the global small business. To paraphrase from his book, “this is a business that typically has less than 20 staff but isn’t limited by geography. It can reach into cities all over the world and can easily be making millions in sales despite a relatively small headcount.”
Daniel went to say that it wasn’t just about having a niche anymore but a micro niche. Writing this blog has inspired me to re-read it again as I sniff for opportunities. He shares tips on being an empire builder which include keeping a journal (surprise, surprise) to getting a team in place and the sort of people you need in the team.
One person quoted in the book who has embarked on this journey was Adele Theron. She chose a niche that was close to her heart, helping women who have been through a divorce to recreate their life. She came out with a three-week programme (or less) to get over divorce trauma. Helping people and making money in the process. Isn’t that what business is all about? You can also hear her interview on her journey here.
Yes indeedy, we all want to change the world and we can.
